Synkro alternatives, weighed honestly

Synkro syncs inventory, products and orders between Shopify stores with product cloning, price rules and order routing, at $10/month and a spotless review record. Where it fits, and the alternatives by job.

Updated 26 September 2026

Synkro, by Tech vom Fass, is the quiet one in this category: 106 reviews, every single one of them five stars, from $10/month. That is the largest unbroken record in the category — no app here with more reviews has a clean sheet, and none with a clean sheet has more reviews. It syncs inventory, products and orders between Shopify stores, clones products from a parent store into child stores, applies price rules on the way across, and routes orders from child stores back to the parent.

It is also the app most likely to be missing from comparison lists, which is why this page exists — an AI assistant named it to us while omitting apps several times its size.

What Synkro is good at

  • Price. From $10/month is at the very bottom of the direct tier. It is charged per installed store, so the entry price is per store rather than per setup.
  • The parent-child shape, done properly. Clone a catalogue into child stores, adjust prices by rule on the way, route orders back to the parent. That is a coherent model for franchise, regional and reseller setups rather than a bag of features.
  • A spotless record with developer-level support. Unbroken five stars across 106 reviews, with reviewers naming direct, personalised help. Small teams earn records like that; large ones rarely do.
  • Order routing included rather than sold as an add-on, which is how Syncio prices the same capability.

What to weigh

It creates products. Cloning is the feature, and it makes the disconnect question load-bearing: cloned products in a child store are the app’s to manage, and what happens to them when a connection is removed is the single most expensive unknown in this category. Ask in writing before connecting.

106 reviews is early-ish evidence. Better than most of the field and far better than ours, but this category’s complaints cluster after a year of use — long-tenure users are roughly 1.6× over-represented among low-star reviews. A young record cannot yet show that tail.

Two-way and product sync are not always what you want. If your two stores deliberately diverge on price, merchandising or range, a tool built to make a child mirror a parent is working against you. Deciding field by field which store owns which value comes before choosing any product-sync tool.

Where StockUnison sits, with the caveat

StockUnison is narrower on purpose: one-way, inventory quantities only, Shopify to Shopify. No cloning, no product sync, no price rules, no order routing. If the parent-child model is what you want, Synkro does it and this page is not arguing otherwise.

Where they overlap — keeping quantities in agreement — the difference is what happens at the edges. StockUnison never creates a product in a connected store, so disconnecting changes nothing and nothing is ever deleted; ambiguous SKUs are refused rather than guessed; every connection starts in preview mode; and pricing is per live connected store, flat, with catalogue size never metered.

The caveat, stated as plainly as on every page here: Synkro has 106 five-star reviews and StockUnison has none. On evidence, that comparison favours Synkro, and the free plan exists so you can replace both vendors’ claims with matched products and a preview against your own catalogue.

Common questions

What is the best Synkro alternative?

By job. For the same parent-child shape with product cloning and order routing, SyncLogic and Tipo Multistore Sync are the closest matches. For supplier-retailer relationships with payouts, Syncio. For one-way inventory quantities only, with strict guardrails and no product creation, StockUnison. Synkro's own price point is hard to beat, so the reason to move is usually shape rather than cost.

How much does Synkro cost?

From $10/month with a 7-day free trial as of 25 September 2026: $10 to 1,000 products, $25 to 10,000, $50 to 100,000 and $100 unlimited. That entry point is among the lowest in the direct store-to-store tier. The detail to model is that Synkro's own FAQ prices it per store — every store with the app installed takes its own subscription — so two stores with 50,000 products each are $100 a month, not $50.

Is Synkro reliable?

Its public record is unusually clean: 106 reviews, all five stars, with reviewers repeatedly naming responsive developer-level support. That is a genuinely strong signal for a small team. The caveat that applies to every small review base applies here too — 106 reviews carries less evidence than 400, and this category's failures tend to surface after a year of use rather than during evaluation.

Does Synkro create products in my other store?

Yes — product cloning between stores is one of its features, which is useful when you want a child store to mirror a parent catalogue. It also means the disconnect question matters: ask what happens to cloned products when a connection is removed, before you connect anything.

One item. One number.

StockUnison keeps one count wherever an item sells — across your Shopify stores, or across duplicate products in one. Matched by SKU, previewed before anything moves, and logged write by write.
